studierte Kunstgeschichte, Germanistik und Christliche Archäologie. Sie ist am Deutschen Studienzentrum in Venedig im Bereich der Kunstförderung – Bildende Kunst, Architektur, Literatur und Komposition – tätig. Neben ihrer kuratorischen Arbeit (etwa im Museo del Settecento Ca'Rezzonico, Universität Ca'Foscari Venedig) ist sie Herausgeberin von Kunstkatalogen und Autorin. Seit 2010 ist sie Korrespondentin der Weltkunst, dem Kunstmagazin der Zeit.

Is a deputy in the German Bundestag, the Lower House of the Federal Parliament. There she is a member of the Committee on Climate Protection and Energy as well as spokesperson on just those issues for the Social Democratic Party’s parliamentary delegation. In addition, she is a member of the SPD’s Committee on Basic Values.

holds a doctorate in political science. Since 2021 she has been an SPD deputy in the German Bundestag where she has been a regular member of the Committees on Education and Research as well as the Environment Committee. She had previously served as a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen.

is a senior distinguished fellow in the directorate of the Politics and Economics Foundation. He also has served as political director of the Foreign Office and ambassador to China and Japan. Since 2014 he has held visiting professorships in California and Japan, as well as at Berlin’s Free University and the Hertie School of Berlin.
